BO-PK councilors help out in Sinulog program
DESPITE being on opposite sides of the political fence, three councilors of the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) are involved in the Cebu City government’s Sinulog preparations.
Councilor Roberto Cabarrubias heads the Devotee City committee, while Councilors Leah Japson and John Philip Po head the VIP food committee and puppeteers committee respectively.
Po, also chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation, replaced Councilor Alvin Arcilla in the puppeteers committee.
Asked why other BO-PK councilors were not involved in Sinulog preparations, Mayor Michael Rama said, “Right now I’m not in the mood to tap (their help) because I know that they are not also in the mood to help me.”
Rama said the three officials were also involved in the city’s 75th Charter Day preparations.
Majority of the BO-PK officials were not seen during the launch parade for the Sinulog last Friday or during the preliminary Sinulog dance competitions of public school students at the Cebu City Sports Center.

“I had so much fun last year so I’ll do it again this year. They have a really good band on board the BCLP float so its really fun to dance,” she said.
Councilor Dizon said he will take photos of the Sinulog grand parade from the carousel route.
Mayor Rama said he sent out two VIP passes for each of the 18 councilors for seats in the grandstand.
But Osmeña and Dizon said they will give their VIP tickets to friends and guests.
Margot said she and her husband, Congressman Osmena , asked their allies to board the BCLP float or join street dancing with them if they have time. Chief of Reporters Doris C. Bongcac and Correspondent Edison delos Angeles
