Biker dies after truck drags motorcycle in road accident

A 32-YEAR-OLD man died after the motorcycle he was driving  skidded and went under a Forwarder truck in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City yesterday afternoon.

John Nino Co, of barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, was declared dead by ERUF paramedics after he failed to respond to efforts to resuscitate him at 2 p.m.

Police said the Forwarder truck and the motorcycle driven by the victim were travelling on the same direction along Hernan Cortes Street coming from MC Briones Highway when the  victim’s motorcycle slipped when it hit a rough patch of the road, causing the bike to slip and skid toward the truck.

Witnesses said that Co was dragged under the truck for about 12 meters.

It was too late for the truck driver to know that the victim was dragged under his driven truck when somebody alerted him.

The truck driver  Reynaldo Daso, 43, ofBarangay Tingub, Mandaue City was detained at the Subangdaku Police station pending the filing of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide charges.//Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
