BUSINESSWOMAN  ROBBED

A BUSINESSWOMAN reported to the police that she lost P200,000 cash to an armed robber in barangay Sabang, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Mary Ann Dosdos Albi, 43, said she was walking home past 8 p.m. Friday when a man appeared,  poked gun at her and declared a hold-up.

The woman said she was forced to hand over her money out of fear.

Police said it was possible that the robber had been monitoring the victim’s movement before she was robbed.

Four hours earlier, a store owner was also victimized by an armed robber in Danao.

Amelita Nagsuban was riding a tricycle when two men on a motorcycle waylaid her in barangay Poblacion.

Nagsuban said the robbers took her P17,000 cash, two cellphones and jewelry worth P80,500.

HABAL DRIVER DIES IN CRASH

A 32-YEAR-OLD habal-habal driver was killed when the motorcycle he was driving crashed in barangay Liburon, Carcar city, southern Cebu.

Joey Bacatan suffered head injuries. He died while being rushed to a hospital.

Bacatan’s passenger, Mario Lazarte, 42, was unscathed, police said.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling along a road past 6 p.m. Friday when bursts of gunfire broke out.

Police said Bacatan panicked after hearing the gunfire and lost control of the motorcycle.
