USJ-R booters eye U-23 lead vs USP

THE University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) hopes to take over the top spot in the Men’s Under 23 category when the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup resumes today at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

A win against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) today will allow the Jaguars to replace idle leader University of San Carlos (USC) in the category.

USC leads with seven points off two wins and one draw while USJR is at second with six points after having won all two of its matches so far.

USPF, on the other hand, hopes to extend its winning streak to two and climb up the leaderboard.

In the Boys 17, Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI) is also vying for the top spot in Bracket C when it takes on South Hills,  which is still eyeing its first win in the tournament.

Two matches will be played in the Boys 14. Subangdaku FC will go up against USC BED while Canduman FC faces Ateneo de Cebu (AdC) A.

Four matches each will be played in the Boys 12 and Players 10.

In the Boys 12, Guiseppe FC will face Dinamo, Hijas de Jesus versus Canduman FC, SRP FC against Holy Infant and VEPS play against SJS-M.

Seeing action in the Players 10 are Canduman FC against Warzhockz, VEPS versus Dinamo, USC-BED faces AdC A and Subangdaku FC clashes with San Roque Football Club (SRFC).

The Players 8 will have three matches with Hijas de Jesus facing Children’s Paradise Montesorri School (CPMS), VEPS against Centre for International Education (CIE) and SRFC-B versus Consolacion.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
