/ 11:49 PM January 11, 2013

A 32-year-old dermatologist was found dead of stab wounds on Thursday midnight inside his home in Quezon City.

Russel Fritz Saliganan, of Bantay Street in Barangay (village) Kaunlaran, Cubao, was discovered by his neighbor, Teresa Romero, who saw him lying in a pool of blood as she happened to pass by the window of his unit on her way home.

Senior Police Officer 1 Jogene Hernandez, of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), said neighbors heard people apparently fighting inside Saliganan’s unit.

They, however, ignored the noise until it died down.

Romero was on her way home when she happened to peer into a window of the doctor’s residence.

The figure of a bloodied man sprawled on the floor caught her attention, prompting her to report her discovery to the police.

Hernandez said Saliganan’s body bore multiple stab wounds and signs that he put up a fight.

The police investigator added that there was no sign of forced entry, an indication that the victim probably knew his attacker.

Scene of the Crime Office (Soco) personnel recovered a bottle of liquor from the crime scene from which they were able to lift fingerprints that could possibly identify Saliganan’s killer.
