Heavy rains expected in Davao, Soccsksargen due to LPA
MANILA, Philippines – Moderate to heavy rains in the regions of Davao and Soccsksargen, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, were seen due to a low pressure area in Mindanao, the state weather bureau said midday Monday.
The LPA was seen 410 kilometers southeast of Davao City, embedded along the tropical convergence zone, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Residents in these areas were advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures.
Alvin Bordon of Pagasa said that although the wind speed of the LPA was “insignificant,” it still has chances of intensifying as it gains more strength in the sea.
