JAIL VISITOR NABBED FOR ‘SHABU’

A 34 YEAR-OLD man was arrested after a pack of suspected shabu was allegedly recovered from his possession while he was about to visit his cousin at the Talisay City Jail.

A small plastic pack containing white crystalline substance was found in the pocket of Richard Baguio, a resident of barangay Bulacao, Talisay City, police said.

Police said Baguio was frisked by JO1 Jindo Rodriguez when the man went to the Talisay City Jail to visit his cousin last Friday afternoon.

Police said the man’s cousin, Gerald Baguio, was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas in a buy-bust operation in November last year.

MAN SHOT, HURT IN TALISAY

A 21-YEAR-OLD man was critically wounded after he was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay San Roque, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Raymund Labaya Dechosa sustained gunshot  wounds in the head, right shoulder and left thigh.

Police said Dechosa was standing by the road with his friends last Friday night when two men on board a motorcycle arrived.

The backrider alighted, drew a .45 caliber pistol and approached Dechosa, SPO4 Daniel Tarucan of the Talisay City police said.

Upon seeing the armed man, Dechosa ran toward the interior portion of the place.

The assailant chased Dechosa and shot him several times.

When the victim slumped on the ground, the gunman went back to the motorcycle  and fled.

The victim was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Personal grudges could be the motive for the attack, police said.
