THE Family of United and Empowered Leaders (Fuel), which is the 8th district of the Commission on Youth, will hold a praise and worship concert today at 5 p.m. at the Blessed John XXIII Seminary in Mabolo, Cebu City.
The event, with the theme “The Sounds Of the New Generation,” will be graced by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma, who will officially launch the 27th Local World Youth Day.
The performers are the different Catholic communities, such as the Light of Jesus, Catholic Charismatic Carolinian, Generation Revolution, Young Servants of the Lord and Fire of God ministries. Bro. Roberto O. Cabrillas Jr. from Kyregma will also give a talk.
Jess Del Mar Juvalanie, Fuel district 8 coordinator, said the event is “a night of praise and worship to God, a night of prayer through dancing and singing, all for God’s glory.”
“This praise and worship concert is very timely with the declaration of year 2011 as the “Year of the Youth” by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Youth. We, the young people of Cebu, are privileged and happy for it is stated in the 2nd Plenary Council of the Philippines that the youth should be given the fullest and the highest priority in every way,” Juvalanie said.
She said the participants will “encounter God through the talk, songs and acquaintances from different communities and schools organizations.”
Proceeds of the concert will go to the construction of the Archdiocesan Youth Center.
“We are planning to put up a center where young people can gather anytime of the day and converge,” said Msgr. Arturo Navales, chairman of the Cebu Archdiocese Commission on Youth.
Concert tickets are at P75 each.
