THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) provided free potable water to the beneficiaries of the Pasko sa Uptown, a Christmas party for the kids, spearheaded by the Cebu City Progressive Uptown Movement.
This is the fifth year for the Cebu City government to hold this event. This year, MCWD installed two water stations.
The activity, held last Dec. 20 at the Fuente Osmaña Circle, benefited 2,450 children from the 16 coastal barangays and 33 urban barangays of Cebu City.
The program was between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and was held under the giant Christmas tree inside the Fuente Osmeña Circle.
In MCWD, 55 children were treated to a Christmas party on Dec. 18 at the social hall.
These children are those living in the streets near the MCWD main building. Holding a Christmas party for them is a yearly tradition as part of MCWD’s corporate social responsibility.
A Jollibee mascot was hired to entertain them and the Corporate Planning Department also prepared games for the children.
Then, they were given Jollibee meals, slippers and loot bags after the party.
