302nd Brigade adjudged Centcom best brigade

THE Philippine Army’s 302nd Brigade in Negros Oriental was awarded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as the Central Command best brigade for 2012 among the army units in regions 6 and 7.

The award was received by brigade commander Francisco Patrimonio during the 11th Central Command founding anniversary this week with AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Jessie Dellosa, as the guest of honor at the Centcom grandstand in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City.

The brigade was recognized  as one of the best army units of the Central Command.

Capt. Anacito Naz, Army information officer, credited  the successful triad operations and accomplishments together with personnel administration, resource management and the disaster rescue and relief operations,

The unit conducted included intelligence, combat and civil military operations  to get  sound cooperation among civilians and non-government organizations.

AFP Central Command covers Regions 6, 7 and 8. It has two divisions — the 3rd Infantry Division based in Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz where 302nd belongs and the 8th Infantry Division based in Catbalogan, Samar.

Col. Patrimonio congratulated the commanders and staff of the line battalions, the 79th IB and 11th IB and the staff officers and enlisted personnel of the 302nd Brigade for receiving the award.

“Our accomplishments coupled with excellent leadership are clear manifestations that we can certainly achieve our aspirations to become a professional army serving the Filipino people and securing the land,”  Patrimonio said.
