Makati sets bigger New Year party

/ 11:04 PM December 26, 2012

The Makati City government is promising “a different and more exciting” street party and New Year’s Eve countdown on Dec. 31.

Revelers are invited to gather at the intersection of Ayala and Makati Avenues in the city’s central business district for a party dubbed “One World, One Makati.”

“This year’s New Year’s Eve Countdown will be different and certainly more exciting than the previous countdowns we had staged.  We have laid out a multi-level, nonstop entertainment designed to build up the crowd’s anticipation that will reach fever-pitch levels when the clock strikes twelve,” Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. said in a statement.

Organized in part by Ayala Land Inc. and the Makati Commercial Estate Association, the party will feature various musical performances, a street dance contest, a laser dance party, and ‘’a one-minute game” where a P1-million prize is at stake, and a 15-minute pyrotechnic display.
