11 hurt in jeepney accident along Commonwealth in QC

MANILA, Philippines — Eleven persons were injured, most of them high school students, when a jeepney overturned along Commonwealth Avenue Friday morning, Quezon City Rescue officers said.

Ricky Castillo, one of the responding officers, said that the victims, including the driver, were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center after the accident in front of the UP-Ayala Land Technohub at around 6:20 a.m.

“Most of the passengers were high school students aged 12 to 13. They said the jeepney was going way too fast and had overturned when it tried to avoid hitting a taxi,” said Castillo.

He said that all of the victims suffered minor injuries.
