Group backs Purisima
The Abono party-list group has lauded the appointment of Deputy Director General Alan Purisima as the new head of the Philippine National Police.
Abono chair Rosendo So, in a press release, said President Aquino chose an excellent replacement for PNP Chief Nicanor Bartolome, who retired on Dec. 18.
“General Purisima’s effective leadership and unblemished integrity as a public servant in the field of peace and order will serve the nation well,” So said in the statement.
So, who has been supporting anticrime campaigns in Pangasinan, cited Purisima’s successful stint as police chief in Pangasinan.
“The overall peace and order situation in Pangasinan improved during the incumbency of General Purisima,” So said. “We are confident that he will be able to replicate this nationwide as the new PNP chief,” the party-list group head said.
So said as then head of the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response Unit, Purisima was effective in the war on kidnapping.
