MANILA, Philippines – Justin Bieber faces a possible ban in the Philippines after he posted photos of Sarangani Representative and 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao that made fun of his knockout loss against Juan Manuel Marquez.
House resolution 2962, which was filed by Representatives Carol Jayne Lopez, Seth Jalosjos, Amado Bagatsing, Antonio Alvarez, Mark Sambar, Alfredo Garbin and Isidro Lico, demands for a public apology from the Canadian pop singer.
Bieber had posted the photos in his instagram account, an online photo sharing site, and showed edited photos of Pacquiao being knocked out.
Netizens and fans of Pacquiao were quick to react against Bieber, calling him names. But Pacquiao however, shrugged off the alleged insults from Bieber.
If Bieber does not issue a public apology, he would be declared persona non grata and would be barred from entering the Philippines as well as from performing concerts in the country.
Congressmen had said that it was not only Pacquiao who was insulted but the entire Filipino people.
Pacquiao’s knockout loss against Marquez in their fourth battle shocked Filipinos all over the world who were rooting for him.
