Bus driver killed, 28 hurt in QC bus collision

MANILA, Philippines — A bus driver was killed while 28 other persons were hurt in a head-on collision of two passenger buses on Sunday night in Quezon City.

Christopher Isidro, 35, a driver of Joyselle Bus, died following the mishap with an RBM Bus in Barangay North Fairview.

The traffic investigator, PO3 Ferdinand Paglinawan, said the Joyselle Bus (TXC-439) was on the westbound lane of Regalado Avenue while the RBM Bus (TYS-439) was on the eastbound side.

The collision happened at 6:10 p.m. in front of the Assembly of the Lord Church on Regalado Avenue although it was still sketchy to police how the accident happened.

RBM Bus driver Diosdado Pascual Jr., 29, and 10 of his passengers were hurt in the mishap while 16 passengers of the Joyselle Bus were also injured.

Also hurt was Jerry Batalla, 34, who was driving his motorcycle (PN-3099) behind the Joyselle Bus at that time of the accident.
