CQCU FC logs third consecutive victory to continue win streak in Aboitiz Football Cup

The Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) FC continued its dominance in bracket C of the men’s open of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup following its third win yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Goals from Dan Villarico and Carlos Bolo allowed CQCU FC to blank Toledo Harumi, 2-0, and log its third win in as many games.

In the other match, Hiroshi FC opened its title bid with a 2-0 edging of San Roque Football Club (SRFC).

Former national team member Joshua Fegidero found the back of the net in the 38th minute to post Hiroshi’s first goal. The other goal was scored by Kerth Bordalba in the 59th minute.

Crazy Horse, on the other hand, frustrated DB Magone-Philmico from posting its first win with a 4-1 demolition.

Yuki Kimura scored two of Crazy Horse’s four goals while the rest were contributed by Keen Agot and Ayabe Hayato.

The win allowed Crazy Horse to stay at the top of bracket B with four points.

In the 38 Above, Queen City United (QCU) also opened its quest for the title with success after a 5-1 lambasting of Baliant Hawk UTD.

Starting the scoring spree for QCU was Jan Nacional in the 17th minute. The rest of the goals were scored by Marvin Baring, Manuel Dumangcas, Jun Ouano and Eddie Torreverde.

Baliant’s lone goal was scored by Vince Richard Yap in the 32nd minute.

The other match saw Hiroshi FC’s older team also celebrating with a 2-1 win over SRFC.

In the inter-BPO, Leylam headed by Little Azkals head coach Oliver Colina cemented its leadership in bracket B with a 3-0 blanking of Timex BP.
