The Metro Rail Transit 3 or MRT was opened to the public in December 1999. The train, which runs the stretch of Edsa from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City, ferried 11.94 million passengers in April 2012 which resulted in a gross revenue collection of P147.87 million during the same period.
