CABBIE STABBED IN ROBBERY

A TAXI driver was injured after he resisted a robber who held him up in barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City.

Regino Briones of barangay Guiwanon, Compostela town, Cebu sustained stab wounds in the neck and other parts of the body. The victim was a driver of Sheena taxi.

Briones told police that a man flagged him down in Mandaue City past 9 p.m. Monday and asked to brought to Agus.

The driver said the passenger poked a knife at him and declared a hold-up.

The driver handed his earnings worth P2,000 to the robber.

The driver said that as he was about to hand over the money, he found a chance to grab the knife.

A scuffle ensued.

The robber overpowered the driver and stabbed him in the neck. Although wounded, the driver was still able to again grab the knife from his attacker and stab him in the face.

The driver said he became weak due to blood loss allowing the robber to retake the knife.

The robber stabbed the driver repeatedly in the body before he fled with the victim’s earnings and the taxi’s key.

The driver sought help from the some residents in the area who brought him to the hospital.

BOY ACCUSED OF MOLESTING GIRL

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was arrested for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl in barangay Ward 2, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Police said the alleged abuse happened in front of the house of girl’s grandmother past 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the girl was playing with other children when the boy convinced the girl to go with him.

Police said a 23-year-old woman saw the boy undressing the girl and touch her private parts.

The woman reported to the girl’s mother who then sought help of the barangay officials.

The boy was later turned over to the police.

PO3 Hazel Tuazon said the boy will be turned to the Operation Second Chance, a youth detention center in barangay Kalunasan.

The girl will undergo stress and psychological debriefings, police said./Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito

MAN STABS PARTNER

A 20-YEAR-OLD woman was hacked and wounded by her live-in partner after they fought inside their house in barangay Kawit, Medellin town, northern Cebu.

Police said jealousy was the reason why the couple fought last Sunday evening.

Maryjane Francisco sustained hack wounds in her forehead and right cheek.

Joel Orbiso Ababa, 28, was arrested after the incident but was later released after the couple settled the case ammicably.

Police said the couple argued when a drunk Ababa confronted the woman for allegedly having an affair with another man.

At the height of the argument, the man took a knife and attacked the woman.
