SUSPECTS in the ambush try of Korean businessmen last Oct. 31 in a subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City will remain free after they stemmed the move to issue an arrest warrant when they filed counter affidavits at the Lapu-Lapu City fiscal’s office yesterday.
Kim Jae Hyung submitted his counter affidavit to the fiscal’s office followed by Rodenio Espiritu and then Boy Booc, that is why it was not yet elevated to the court as the fiscal is still studying the case,” said Zenaido Pastofide Jr., the Homicide Chief of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
Police were expecting the issuance of a search warrant provided the suspects wouldn’t file counter affidavits.

According to Police Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, he talked with lawyer Alex Godornes, the counsel of the victims, that they have already submitted a reply as required by the fiscal’s office.
“Hopefully ma-resolve na sa prosecutor’s office karong buwana kay duna man sab na silay time frame sa pag-resolve,” he said.
Lawas said, the three suspects were represented by only one counsel but was not sure who it was, Kim Jae Hyung was just visible in the city but the other two Filipino accomplices were not, but he believes they are just in the city.
He further added that the two Korean victims were still doing business as usual with a security provided by Lapu-Lapu City Police Office.
Kim, Espiritu, and Booc were accused of being involved in the ambush attempt of two Korean businessmen.
