Pagasa should have a `supertyphoon’ category, poll results show

More than 80 percent of people who answered the latest INQUIRER.net opinion poll think it’s about time for Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) to include a `supertyphoon’ on its list.

The unofficial survey done over the weekend and which ended Monday afternoon actually asked respondents if the new category was needed in the light of what typhoon `Pablo’ did to certain areas in Mindanao.

A total of 384 people responded to the poll. Of this, 317 or 82.55 percent said Yes, 40 respondents or 10.42 percent said No, and 27 or 7.03 percent said Maybe.
