Bus falls into pond in China, killing 11 people

BEIJING— State media said a bus crash in central China left the vehicle in a roadside pond and killed 11 people.

The official Xinhua News Agency said another 23 people are in stable condition in a hospital. It said the crash happened Sunday in Minquan county in Henan province. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Serious road accidents are common in China where vehicles are not properly maintained and laws are often ignored.
