Cebu netters march on in Batang Pinoy meet

TEAM Cebu netters are making waves in the Batang Pinoy national competitions in Iloilo City.

Jana Marie Pages of Bright Academy will be vying for the girls singles title after besting Zamboanga’s Franchette Helar in the semifinals. She will go up against Melanie Dizon of Sta. Rosa in the championship round.

In the quarterfinal round, she dismissed another Sta. Rosa netter Princess Catindig after earning a bye in the first round.

Pages is also competing in the doubles event with Shyne Villareal. In the boys singles competition, regional champion Jan Godfrey Seno and Christopher Encarnacion advanced to the semifinal round.

Seno will be facing Jan Andrei Rodriguez Rodriguez of the National Capital Region (NCR) after getting past Tangub’s Jeff Balatero in the quarterfinals.

Encarnacion, on the other hand, hopes to clinch a finals ticket as he goes up against Luke Alquinn Flores of Iloilo. He dismissed San Jose’s Chris Justine Prulla in the quarterfinals.
