Woman stabbed by ex-lover in Navotas

A woman collecting earnings from her lending business was seriously injured after her former lover repeatedly stabbed her in Barangay San Jose, Navotas City.

Charges of frustrated murder await suspect Edwin Troyo, 38, who was arrested by barangay watchmen after stabbing Rachell Anne Lopez, 27.

Initial investigation by PO2 Tristan de Lara showed that Lopez was with her friend, Ashelle Anne Panganiban, collecting money from their clients in Bagong Silang, Barangay San Jose, Navotas, when the incident happened at around 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Troyo, Lopez’s former lover, approached the two and suddenly stabbed the victim in different parts of her body.

A witness called the attention of barangay watchmen who immediately arrested Troyo.

Lopez was brought to the Tondo Medical Center for treatment.
