Should they end up with the same records after the eliminations, the two squads will play each other in a playoff game to earn a quarterfinal berth.

Rain or Shine is looking to keep its top two finish bid alive. The Painters are ranked third in the standings with an 8-5 record.

Rain or Shine’s only chance to finish in the top two is if San Mig Coffee loses its last two games. The Coffee Mixers are at solo second place with a 9-3 record. San Mig Coffee will end its elimination round assignment against the Meralco Bolts on Sunday.

The defending champions Talk ’N Text Tropang Texters are already assured of the number one seeding owing to their 11-2 slate. The Texters have still one game left against the Barangay Ginebra Kings on Sunday.
