Over 80 percent of elementary school children for the school year 2011 to 2012 in the National Capital Region had a “normal” body mass index, according to data from the National Nutrition Council. The same data showed that 9.43 percent were “wasted,” 4.61 percent were “severely wasted,” 3.94 percent were “overweight” while 1.33 percent were “obese.” Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
