Soaring Falcons gun for tie of second place

Games today (Philsports Complex)

1 p.m .– UE vs Adamson

3 p.m .– La Salle vs NU

THE Adamson Soaring Falcons will gun for a tie for second place in the standings while the La Salle Green Archers will try to build up on their first win of the season today in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Philsports Complex in Pasig City.

The Falcons, who are at 2-1, are steadily gaining steam as they are coming off two impressive wins over tough opponents. After bashing the Far Eastern University Tamaraws several weeks back, the Falcons clipped the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers, 84-74, dealing the latter their first loss of the tournament.

Adamson will be battling the rebuilding University of the East Red Warriors in the curtain-raiser of today’s twinbill. UE though, gave the reigning champions Ateneo some scary moments last Saturday before eventually falling, 61-73.

Meanwhile, after the Green Archers of La Salle broke through the win barrier last weekend with a victory over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, they will gun for yet another one against rookie sensation Bobby Ray Parks and the rest of the National University Bulldogs. In contrast, the Bulldogs lost their last outing against FEU, 59-62, with Parks being held to a season-low 11 points on 2-of-7 field goal shooting. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
