Ship rips Train in Vintage
VINTAGE Ship crushed Vintage Train, 84-73, Thursday night to capture the championship of the 2012 Vintage Ball Club, Christmas basketball tournament at the barangay Pooc Sports Complex in Talisay City, Cebu.
Vintage Ship had a sluggish start and trailed, 17-20 but rallied hard in the 2nd canto to forge a 35-all deadlock at halftime. Vintage Ship then unloaded a blistering 23-14 rally led by 6-foot-2 center Daks Tenedora to erect a commanding nine-point lead, 58-49, going to the final quarter.
Allan Cabrera and Daks Tenedora led Vintage Ship with 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Billy Cañedo and Jun Guba paced Vintage Train with 19 and 17, respectively.
Right after the championship game, club members held an election of new officers presided by Talisay City Councilor and Vintage Ball Club founder, Hon. Rodi Cabigas with Erik Abatayo elected as president, replacing Marlon Reyes.
