Fire razes 8 houses in Mabolo

AT LEAST P300,000 in property was destroyed in yesterday’s fire in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

The fire destroyed eight houses, fire investigator Lowel Opolentisima of the Cebu City Fire Department said.

The fire broke out at 9:30 a.m. at the house owned by Remedios Bascon.

Electrical malfunction may have caused the fire, Opolentisima said.

The fire raged for 13 minutes.

Opolentisima said most of the firetrucks were at the South Road Properties for the national thanksgiving of San Pedro Calungsod when the fire broke out.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama rushed to the fire scene to check on the victims.
