Suico fights Aussie for WBO Asia-Pacific 160lb title

RANDY “Kumong Bato” Suico (30W-7L-1D, 25 KOs) of Cebu will test his punching power in the middleweight division when he battles Les “Lock N Load” Sherrington (29W-6L, 17 KOs) of Queensland, Australia for the WBO Asia-Pacific 160 lb. division title at the Townsville RSL Stadium in Queensland, Australia this Friday.

The 33 year-old Suico is a former Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) titlist in the superfeatherwieght, lightweight and junior welterweight divisions.

He was inactive for the whole of 2011 and lost to Japanese Takayuki Hosokawa by majority decision in Osaka in his comeback fight last April. Suico’s last win in Cebu was a majority decision verdict against Arnel Tinampay at the Waterfront Hotel last November 2010.

The 30 year-old Sherrington beat former two time world champion Yori Boy Campas of Mexico last July by unanimous decision in a fight also held in Queensland. Sherrington has also held titles under the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) and Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA). /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
