Double victory for DGL Motorsports

The apple did not fall far from the tree as David Lim Jr. took from where his father left off as he captured the Driver of the Year award for his scintillating performance in the final leg of the Regional Autocross Championship held over the weekend at the South Reclamation Properties.

DGL Motorsports’ Lim Jr., the son of renowned racer and Driver of the Year winner for the last three years David G. Lim (DGL), the took home six wins in six different classes including a clean sweep of the titles in the Open A, B and C categories.

Using the same car that his father used to strike fear into the hearts of the competitors over those last three years—a green Honda CRX—Lim Jr. won the Open A class by posting a best time of 44.73 seconds.

He also beat his closest competitor Jess Garcia and Derek Arculli in the Open B class by crossing the finishing line with a time of 43 seconds flat.

The Open C was won with Lim Jr.’s best time of 43.14 seconds, which beat Arculli and Garcia once again.

But Lim Jr. was not close to being done as he also annexed the crown in the Expert Modified A, B and C classes. He topped the Expert Modified A class with a time of 45.55 seconds while he posted a time of 44.86 in the Expert Modified B category, beating Garcia’s 45.52 seconds.

Finally, he outlasted Garcia for yet another time in the Expert Modified C class with his time of 44.16 seconds, a mere 0.15 tenths of a second ahead of Garcia.

DGL also had victories to call his own as he won the Open Mixed and Expert Stock A, B and C categories. DGL won both Expert Stock A and B, posting times of 47.99 and 47.30, respectively. He also won in the Expert Stock C class with a time of 46.77 seconds.
