Basak suicide
A 29-year-old man was found dead apparently a case of suicide in his house in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
The body of Anecito Castro was found hanging inside the couple’s room with a rope tied on his neck and the other end tied at the wooden beam at 6 a.m. yesterday.
Castro’s live-in partner, Rachael Singson said she couldn’t believe that Castro would kill himself.
She told police that she and Castro had a fight because she wouldn’t let him have sex with her the night before.
Singson, who works in a local bar, said she was tired from work at that time.

Bridge crash
A 23-year-old man was killed in motorcycle accident at the Marcelo Fernan bridge in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.
Joseph Gemina of Tugbongan Consolacion town succumbed to severe injuries when his motorcycle clipped another motorcycle as he was on his way to work at the Mactan Export Processing Zone.
Two men on the other motorcycle only sustained minor injuries.
Investigation showed Gemina was negotiating a corner of the bridge’s viaduct when he clipped the rear of the motorcycle driven by Augusto Ababon, 27, and his backrider Danilo Pantonial, 48, both construction workers from Minglanilla town causing the crash./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
Nabbed for drugs
A 25-year-old man was arrested last Sunday morning after San Nicolas barangay tanods caught him in possession of marijuana.
The tanods were checking on the ruckus caused by the dogs when they saw Wilmar Caballero trying trying to coax the dogs to stop barking.
When tanods frisked Caballero they found marijuana in his pocket.
A security guard told the tanods that he saw Caballero on top of the roof of a building. He ran when he saw the guard. /Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
Talisay stabbing
An unidentified assailant stabbed a 34-year-old man in barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City last Sunday evening.
Doming Algare survived a stab wound in the back.
Algare told police that he was returning to his house after relieving himself when somebody suddenly stabbed him in the back./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
