MANILA, Philippines – Light to moderate rainshowers were seen in Mindanao, while Luzon will have “fair weather” due to ridge of a high pressure area, the state weather bureau said Monday.
Often associated with “good weather,” a high pressure area means clear, blue skies.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will only be partly cloudy with isolated brief rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Pagasa’s extended weather outlook showed that it will be generally sunny in most of Luzon for the next three days.
A developing low pressure area was also seen southeast of Guam but was still too far to affect the country, a weather forecaster from Pagasa told INQUIRER.net. If it fully develops, it may bring rains in the country by next week.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east over Northern Luzon and coming from the northeast over the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas, it added.
