Prima 1 rules team event
PRIMA I, composed of former national team bowler Jomar Jumapao, ace keglers Clarence Tiu and Luke Bolongan, clinched the team event title of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) National Tenpin Open yesterday at the SM City Cebu’s Bowling Center.
Prima 1 staged its come-from-behind win by scoring a total of 6,115 pinfalls, beating erstwhile leader Chanieka, which managed 6,083 pinfalls.
Tiu led the team with 2,225 pinfalls, Jumapao added 2,000 while Bolongan chipped in 1,900.
The all-female group of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) rounded off the top three teams with 5,965 pinfalls.
Salve Tesio led the team with 2,053 pinfalls while CETBA president Gretchen Tormis and Baby Bacon chipped a combined 3,912 pinfalls.
The win gave PRIMA I the top purse of P15,000.

Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, Simeon Papa of ITBA currently leads the top 32 of the masters event after chalking up 434 pinfalls after two games. He is followed closely by Cebuano Andrew Yap of PRIMA III with 421 pinfalls and teammate Gj Buyco at third with 419 pinfalls.
Rey Velarde of Chanieka is at fourth with 413 pinfalls while teammate Renato Reyes has 412 pinfalls.
The event is organized by CETBA headed by Tormis along with vice president Cynthia Kua and Engr. Angelito “Docdoc” Gothong. The finals of the masters event is still being played as of press time./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
