Talisay police chief prepares to leave

THE chief of the Talisay City Police has started packing up, saying he is ready to vacate his post.

Supt. Eddie Recamara started clearing his office although his 15-day suspension has been deferred.

Recamara, who has been serving as Talisay police chief for two years, is facing a 15-day suspension after he was found guilty in an administrative case.

Danao City Prosecutor Jose Kyamko filed an administrative case against Recamara for conduct unbecoming of a police officer.

Recamara was accused of fabricating evidence against an illegal drug suspect when he was the Danao City police chief,

Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, deferred the suspension of Recamara since the Talisay City police is involved in the security preparations for the Thanksgiving Mass for San Pedro Calungsod on Nov. 30.

Recamara said he was grateful to serve the people of Talisay and he is looking forward to another assignment.

He said despite the lack of personnel, he was able to manage the Talisay police well and that his stint will be a learning experience for him.

Recamara cited his accomplishments as the city’s chief of police.

He said under his leadership, the crime volume in the city decreased by 40 percent. The decrease was because of the regular police visibility that he implemented, said Recamara.

Recamara said among his accomplishments were the arrest of the suspects in the killing PO1 William Mangubat and wife of lawyer Raul Sesbreño and the peaceful transfer of the vendors from the city’s old public to the new market in barangay Lagtang./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
