American asks DOJ to probe his drug case

MANILA, Philippines—An American national allegedly accused of drug dealing asked the Department of Justice to conduct a formal investigation into the case filed against him by the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF).

Kevin Bryan Hills, 33 was arrested in Makati by AIDSOTF. He was allegedly in possession of P50 million worth of shabu last Nov. 20.

He was brought to the DOJ and underwent an inquest proceeding through State Prosecutor Ana Doreen Devanadera.

An inquest is an informal and summary investigation conducted by the   public   prosecutor   in   a   criminal   case   involving   persons arrested without warrant for the purpose of determining whether he or she should remain under custody and correspondingly be charged in court.

Hills is a resident of Column Tower 2, Ayala Ave., Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City.

Hills counsel, Gary Lauron, however declined to comment about the Mitsubishi Pajero where the 10 kilos of shabu were seized from the suspect.

The National Power Corp. (NPC) had claimed that it owns the vehicle which was lent to Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo in 2008.
