MANILA, Philippines—Two alleged members of a gun-for-hire and robbery group in Central Luzon were killed in an encounter with police authorities in Pampanga Thursday morning, a Criminal Investigation and Detection Group official said.

CIDG chief, Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., identified the fatalities as Reynald “Bordado” Delfino and a certain “Puti.”

Region 3 CIDG chief, Senior Superintendent Elmo Francis Sarona, said the shootout between police officers and the suspects erupted in Purok 1 in Barangay (village) Balite in San Fernando, Pampanga around 10 a.m. resulting in the death of Delfino and “Puti.”

Sarona said the suspects were former members of combined Nueva Ecija gun-for-hire group, and the “notorious” Waray-Waray robbery group which operates in Central Luzon.

Recovered from the scene were two calibre .45 pistols used by the suspects, along with three separate magazines for the pistols and a black PMX motorcycle.

Sarona said that prior to the encounter, the CIDG received a call from the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) of Pampanga Police Office about a stolen motorcycle, which was later found out to be identical to the getaway motorcycle that the suspect used during the encounter.
