MANILA, Philippines—Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has created a new set of prosecutors that will assist the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in its investigation into the scam involving Aman Futures Inc. and other similar cases.
Heading the panel is Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Philip Kimpo, his Vice Chair is Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Edwin S. Dayog. Other members include Assistant State Prosecutors Nolibien N. Quiambao, Hjalmar Quintana, Diosdado Solidum Jr., Michael Aragon Vito Cruz, Florencio Dela Cruz, Gerard Gaerlan, John Benedict Medina, Ma. Kristhina Paat-Salumbides.
De Lima said the panel of prosecutors will help in the collection of evidence, case evaluation and build-up.
“In the interest of service and pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, a team of investigating prosecutors from the National Prosecution Service is hereby created to assist the NBI in its ongoing probe into the pyramid scam allegedly perpetrated by Aman Future Group Philippines and other similar cases committed by other corporation/s and /or individuals in Mindanao,” De Lima said in Department Order 989 released to the public Thursday.
The other DoJ panel of prosecutors led by SASP Edna Valenzuela already received 12 complaints 7 against Aman officers and 5 against the Rasuman group. Summons have already been sent against officials of Aman to answer the complaint.
