Caguioa claims second Player of Week award

MARK CAGUIOA is slowly racking up one MVP-type performance after another en route to sparking the Barangay Ginebra Kings back to contention in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup.

For that, the reigning MVP picked up his second Player of the Week citation as he was given the award for the period of Nov. 12 to 18.

The award is a much-deserved one for Caguioa as he came up big in leading the Kings to a 96-93 win over the Alaska Aces last Sunday.

He scored 13 of his 24 points in the payoff period, underscoring his reputation as one of the clutch performers in the league.

The Kings even stared at a 72-80 deficit early in the fourth before Caguioa went on his tear, with ample help from Willy Wilson, LA Tenorio, Chris Ellis and Billy Mamaril.

The victory improved Ginebra’s record to an even 5-5 (win-loss) that put it at fifth spot. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
