2 killed in Masbate beer joint brawl

Two persons, including a barangay captain, were killed inside a beer joint in Barangay Divisoria in Cawayan town on Monday.

Roman Toñacao, chair of Barangay Mahayahay, was killed by drinking companion Dario Pepito after a heated argument while on a drinking binge, said Masbate police chief Senior Supt. Heriberto Olitoquit.

Another companion, Edison Tarucan, 36, tried to pacify Pepito and Toñacao but was also shot dead by Pepito.

Toñacao died on arrival at Cawayan District Hospital. Pepito fled with his gun, Olitoquit said. Jonas Cabiles Soltes, Inquirer Southern Luzon
