A security guard of a gold-mining firm was found dead with bullet wounds in the body at his post in Barangay Puro in Aroroy town in Masbate province on Sunday, police said.

The body of Rolando Riva, 39, an employee of the Manila-based Lanting Security and Watchman Agency, was discovered at 4:55 a.m.  The agency is hired by Filminera Resources Corp.

The gunman did not take Riva’s wallet and cellular phone but the guard lost his service firearm—a shotgun—and bullets, said provincial police director Senior Supt. Heriberto Olitoquit. Jonas Cabiles Soltes, Inquirer Southern Luzon
