Man wanted for drug case in Leyte nabbed in Cebu City checkpoint
A 36-YEAR-OLD man wanted for a drug case in Leyte province was arrested in a checkpoint in barangay Tisa, Cebu City on Thursday night.
Loreto Bayno, who drove a motorcycle, was caught with a plastic pack of suspected shabu. He tried to to evade the checkpoint past 9 p.m. prompting police to chase him.
When police cornered Bayno, he allegedly threw a pack of white poweder.
Bayno was later brought to the Punta Princesa police precinct for questioning.
Seeing a TV report of the arrest, Chief Insp. Efren Agda, chief of Carigara police in Leyte, contacted the Punta Princesa police to inform them that Bayno had a pending arrest warrant for a drug case in the province.
Bernard dela Cruz of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas went to the Punta Princesa police station and presented the arrest warrant for Bayno.
