150-kilometer race starts today

Around a hundred cyclists will compete today for the 2nd Cebu Challenge Cycling Classic Mountain Bike race dubbed “East To West connects West to East”  starting at the Talisay City Hall.

The race will be a 150-kilometer race from Talisay City to Tuburan town northwestern Cebu via the tough mountain trail of Uling, Naga.

The race will have six categories, including the executives, fat, women’s open, seniors and juniors.

The first stage will be an 82-kilometer ride until the summit of the Uling road. After a short break, the second stage begins with the route to Tuburan passing through Minglanilla, Toledo, Balamban and Asturias.

Cebu Challenge Cycling Classic inaugural champion Cebuano John Rene Mier will lead the list of racers  today along with other noted cyclists  such as Nino Surban, Noy Jopson, Jaybop Pagnanawan, Marvin Tapic, among others.

The race is organized by  Boy Odilao with the support of Tuburan mayor Aljun Diamante, who will be pitting 30 of his best cyclists in the race.
