The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has advised motorists to expect Sunday’s traffic to be affected by this year’s Tour of the Fireflies biking event.

Now on its 14th year, the annual tour which aims to promote cycling as a sustainable, healthy and environment-friendly mode of urban transportation is expected to cover 35 kilometers in five hours around Metro Manila.

In a Twitter post on Saturday, the MMDA said motorists may have to avoid the bikers’ route starting from Tiendesitas, Pasig City, around 7 a.m.
