THE Big Chill Superchargers and the Erase XFoliant hope to keep their winning runs going against different rivals in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Big Chill faces off against the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems while the Erasers tangle with the Cafe France Bakers in the opening match at 2 p.m.
Big Chill opened its campaign with victories against Jose Rizal University and Blackwater Sports and is angling for another win against the Gems, who are aching to bounce back following their heart-breaking loss against newcomer Fruitas last week. A third straight win for the Superchargers would pull them abreast with idle league-leader and defending champion NLEX Road Warriors (3-0).
Cebuana Lhuillier blew a chance to nail its second straight win and lost, 90-91, against Fruitas as guard Rex Leynes missed two free throws with .7 seconds left in the game.
In contrast, the Erasers (2-1) are on cloud nine following their, 79-68 victory against Informatics last Monday – their second straight after a 30-point loss to three-time champion Road Warriors last Oct. 29. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
