Orientation of dynamic learning program slated in Cebu tomorrow
AN orientation on the dynamic learning program (DLP) that is being implemented in the Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) in Jagna, Bohol will be held in Cebu tomorrow, Oct. 7.
The Cebu activity is the third of the simultaneous nationwide orientation sessions hosted by Smart Communications Inc. and PLDT Smart Foundation (PSF).
Developed by Dr. Christopher Bernido and Dr. M. Victoria Carpio-Bernido, the CVIF-DLP framework of teaching encourages independent learning among students as a way to bolster academic performance.
Smart and PSF hosted half-day sessions in Makati, Baguio, Pampanga and Naga for Luzon last Oct. 23, and in Cagayan de Oro and Davao last Oct. 25.
A total of 162 individuals, representing about 70 institutions, participated in the orientation. About 60 percent of the participants were from public schools, and the rest from private schools.
“This is a more efficient way of propagating the benefits of CVIF-DLP. We were able to reach more schools in one sweep instead of conducting them in each institution,” said Stephanie Orlino, Smart Public Affairs manager.

The CVIF is owned by the mother of Dr. Bernido.
With only 80 percent student activity, four academic days, and zero homework, CVIF-DLP has proven to be effective in improving the quality of education particularly in Science, Technology, English and Mathematics.
