Trillanes satisfied on Aquino’s SONA

.Manila, Philippines—Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he’s satisfied with the SONA of President Benigno Aquino III, especially regarding accomplishments in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“He has a plan and I am very satisfied. He accomplished a lot especially on reforms in the AFP,” said Trillanes in an interview with co-anchors Willy Matawaran and Louie Garcia of “In Desk Corner” on 990 AM Radyo Inquirer early Tuesday morning.

For example, Trillanes cited the appointment of Lieutenant General Eduardo Oban Jr. as AFP chief early in the Aquino administration.

“He was chosen because of merit not because of political connection. In the Arroyo administration, that’s the only basis. It’s like a retirement package for generals,” said Trillanes.
