Manila Philippines—As a sign of protest, a group of school-based artists painted the street in front of St. Peter’s church near the Batasang Pambansa on Monday.
With strong messages against the Aquino administration, Roni Ba-Ang, vice chairman for Academics University of the Philippines (Asterisk) Asosasyon ng Kabataang Artista at Iskolar ng UP Diliman, said it was their way of fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens of the Philippines.
“We are showing what we think is the true state of the nation,” she said.
The group started drawing and painting the ground with different images and symbols which Ba-Ang said symbolized how they see the administration.
She said this was to challenge President Aquino not to be influenced by ‘bossings’ like other countries.
She added they were questioning Aquino on the real beneficiaries of his programs.
