Man hacks, injures brother
A 53-YEAR-OLD man was hacked and wounded by his younger brother whom he suspected of shooting him in barangay Liki, Sogod town, northern Cebu last Monday afternoon.
Santiago Truz, 53, sustained hack wounds in different parts of the body.
The suspect was identified as Simplicio Truz, the 51-year-old brother of the victim.
Police said Truz was walking home when he was shot allegedly by Santiago. Simplicio, who sustained a graze wound in the body, ran home and took a bolo.
Simplicio went back to the place where he was shot and attacked his brother when he found him there.
Santiago was brought to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Two men were also wounded in separate stabbing incidents in Talisay and Lapu-Lapu cities.
Marlon Codilla, 23, was stabbed in the back by his drinking buddy in barangay Cansojong, Talisay City, southern Cebu at dawn yesterday.
Mark Cabanes, the alleged attacker, fled after the incident.
Police said the two men were drinking when Codilla started asking money from taxi drivers.
Police said Cabanes reminded Codilla that what he was doing was illegal.
Codilla ignored his friend’s warning and continued asking money from taxi drivers who passed by in the area.
Police said Cabanes got irked, stabbed Codilla and fled.
Codilla was brought to the Talisay City District Hospital. He was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.
In barangay Suba-Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City, a 24-year old man was stabbed by his friend after they argued while drinking past 7 p.m. last Monday.
Arnel Quiroy was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital with a stab wound in the chest. He was later moved to a hospital in Cebu City.
Police said Quiroy and the suspect Edgar Ariesgado, 43, a construction worker, were drinking with a friend when they argued for a still unknown reason.
At the height of the argument, Ariesgado drew a knife and stabbed the victim.
An operation to arrest the suspect is underway, said police.
