Such was the case of four men were recently apprehended for “illegal barking” at a transport terminal of a mall in Fairview.
The offense is covered under City Ordinance 3780, which prohibits illegal barkers or persons calling for passengers at public transport terminals.
Fairview police station commander Superintendent Virgilio Fabian named two of the suspects as William Habig, 38, and Rhodel John Del Rosario, 18.
In a report to Quezon City Police District director Chief Supt. Mario dela Vega, Fabian said the two others were minors and aged 17.
Barangay (village) watchmen rounded up the four along Regalado Avenue near a mall in Barangay Lagro at around 9 p.m. Sunday.
According to Fabian, the illegal barkers’ activities were causing a traffic jam in the area.
The men underwent inquest proceedings for violation of the city ordinance against illegal barking and were still in police custody as of Tuesday.
