MANILA, Philippines — Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. on Tuesday announced that it barred partylist Alab ng Mamamahayag (Alam) from running in the 2013 polls.
In a radio interview, Brillantes said that the partylist had no track record and it failed to meet the requirements of representing marginalized sectors.
He said the decision was final and that the group should run to the Supreme Court.
He also said that a formal resolution would be released Tuesday on the disqualification of Ang Galing Partylist.
ALAM partylist claimed to represent professional media and had different regional chapters in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao.
